{"id":5392,"date":"2015-09-04T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-09-04T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mayoresdehoy.com\/?p=5392"},"modified":"2015-09-04T08:00:00","modified_gmt":"2015-09-04T13:00:00","slug":"la-demencia-en-mexico-y-en-el-mundo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mayoresdehoy.lat\/index.php\/2015\/09\/04\/la-demencia-en-mexico-y-en-el-mundo\/","title":{"rendered":"La demencia en M\u00e9xico y en el mundo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>En nuestra actualidad, M\u00e9xico ha dejado de ser un pa\u00eds enteramente joven pues tiene m\u00e1s individuos mayores de 60 a\u00f1os que ni\u00f1os menores de 5, lo anterior comprobado gracias a las proyecciones de la poblaci\u00f3n mexicana realizadas por el Dr. Ham Chande y el Dr. Gonz\u00e1lez Gonz\u00e1lez en el a\u00f1o 2013 \u00a0(citado en Gutierrez y Arrieta, 2015 ). El envejecimiento poblacional nos hace un pa\u00eds predispuesto a la demencia.<\/p>\n<p>En el 2013 se estimaron 44 millones de personas que sufren de demencia al nivel mundial y se estiman 7,6 millones de nuevos casos anualmente (OMS,2012).<\/p>\n<p>La prevalencia de s\u00edndrome demencial en Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe es alta, entre 6,0 y 6,5 por cada 100 adultos de 60 a\u00f1os y m\u00e1s, con un estimado de crecimiento en el n\u00famero de personas con demencia entre el 2001 y el 2040 del 77 % en los pa\u00edses del cono sur americano (Argentina y Chile) y de 134 % a 146 % de incremento en el resto de Am\u00e9rica Latina, por lo que sobrepasar\u00e1 al de cualquier otra regi\u00f3n del mundo (\u00a0OMS,2012).<\/p>\n<p>De 3,4 millones de personas con demencia en Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe en la actualidad, la cifra se incrementar\u00e1 a 4,1 millones para el 2020 y a 9,1 millones en el 2040, es decir, ser\u00e1 similar al de Norteam\u00e9rica.
